I am an UX designer and researcher. I specialize in getting to the root of user needs, complex interaction design, and UX strategy.

I have a B.A. in anthropology and sociology and a Masters in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University (where I constantly wondered how they let me in). Before becoming a UX designer I worked as a professional wildland firefighter, ski racing coach, and ski instructor for people with disabilities (a.k.a. gear junkie and ski bum). I have witnessed first-hand how poor design can hurt people—both physically and psychologically (ask me about the time I worked in a jail). I entered the field of UX to make products more usable, delightful, and valuable to their users.

I currently work at Under Armour as a UX designer in Austin, Texas.
