Hello, I'm Katie.

My passion is people.

I am a social scientist, interaction designer, and UX crafter. I recently graduated from the master's program in Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University. I specialize in conducting user research and translating the results into delightful user experiences.

I have a B.A. in anthropology and sociology. Prior to Carnegie Mellon, I spent my summers as a wildland firefighter, professional ski racing coach, and ski instructor for people with disabilities. I have witnessed first-hand how poor design can hurt people—both physically and psychologically. I entered the field of UX to make products more usable, delightful, and valuable to their users. In my spare time, I can be found hiking to the top of a mountain, skiing down one, or experimenting (often unsuccessfully) with metal art.

Passionate about both research and design, I am currently looking for a role where I can be involved in both.
